(Westbury, NY – April 2, 2019) Fran Zipp, President and CEO of Lachman Consultants, Inc. a leading provider of compliance, regulatory affairs, and technical services to global life sciences organizations, today announced that Mary Oates has joined the firm as Vice President of Compliance Services. In her role, Oates will lead the expert team that comprises Lachman’s Compliance Practice Group, bringing a unique client-side perspective on a broad range of compliance matters to the firm’s international clientele.

Oates’ path is one of marked by a series of ascending leadership roles since she began her career as a Senior Scientist for Glaxo Inc. in 1990. In 1994, she joined Warner Lambert, moving up as Director of the Quality Design Department. When Warner Lambert was acquired by Pfizer Inc. in 2000, Oates remained with the organization, taking on leadership positions of increasing responsibility in Quality and Regulatory Affairs over the next 18 years. This culminated in her appointment as the head of Global Quality Operations and as the Vice President of Innovative Operations and Network Excellence. In this capacity, Oates was responsible for the supply of all consumer healthcare products, internal biological manufacturing and global implementation of lean manufacturing across the Pfizer network. Her career with Pfizer has been one marked by consistent and significant accomplishment, as she helped the organization achieve high levels of quality performance across over 60 facilities around the world.

Oates has been an active participant at industry conferences and events throughout her career. She is an accomplished and sought-after speaker on the topics of quality, compliance and regulatory affairs. Oates is a board member of the Parenteral Drug Association, and a past member of the ICH Q12 Expert Working Group. She holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from Queens College, and a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
