Then FDA is looking for you!  The implementation of the Generic Drug User Fee Act (GDUFA) has created about new 930 positions in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER).  With first year hiring over, there are still about 600 positions left to fill and FDA is aggressively recruiting.

Just in case you missed the first virtual hiring event, CDER has announced a second such program.   The FDA announcement reads as follows:

CDER’s Office of Compliance seeks qualified individuals to help implement the Generic Drug User Fee Amendments of 2012 (GDUFA). Meet the Director and other staff members and learn about the Biologist, Microbiologist, Chemist and Consumer Safety Officer Positions, along with other positions available in the Office of Compliance.

Start Time: 2/24/2014 1:00 PM
(GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US and Canada) Duration: 01:30:00

To register: http://www.fda.gov/gdufahiring

For more information on GDUFA: http://www.fda.gov/gdufa

FDA’s GDUFA goal for FY 2014 is to hire 50% of the total 930+ authorized by the Act.  With collections of user fees in high gear, FDA needs to get staff on board and trained (a fairly long process) to assure it can continue to meet the GDUFA-mandated goals.  So if you are tired of your humdrum work-a-day life and are ready to be utilized to 150% of your potential, register and see what the FDA has to offer.  Remember the Army’s old slogan “sign-up and see the world”! Well, maybe if you take a compliance job, otherwise, the slogan may go something like “sign up and see the big stack of ANDAs”.  All kidding aside, Uncle Sam or actually Aunt Margaret (Hamburg) needs you!
